Sunday, October 20 - 7pm

Dealing with the themes of familial dysfunction, American nationalism, terrorism, guns, and love, this 2011 play reminds us that we live in a new moral age, where any means can be invoked to justify the ends. It is a very black comedy, which will certainly offend. The New York Times describes the show as Durang's "hilarious and disturbing new comedy about all-American violence."

Cast and Crew

Gail Elgersma - Director

Travis Major - Producer, "Zamir"

Anna Bellury Volle - "Felicity"

Picture
Anna Bellury Volle has been acting since the ripe age of 1, when she starred as baby Jesus at her grandmother's Christmas party. Her career has only gained momentum since. Roles she's missed out on include: Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mel Gibson's daughter in "The Patriot," and the upcoming part of Hot Chick 3 in "Transformers 4." She'd like to thank the GPP for giving her the opportunity to finally put that Theatre degree to some use, and the cast and crew for the fun and laughs.

Daphne Portelli - "Luella"

Picture
Daphne grew up in a humble home of theatre enthusiasts. Her enthusiasm has grown but her humility has vanished as she believes this role will surely launch her to super stardom.

Blair Fitzgerald - "Leonard"

Picture
So I'm Blair from New Zealand. I'm 32 and like short walks along the beach as I am too lazy for long walks. I'm a ginger ninja and yes the carpets match the drapes. I am fine with nudity as long as it's done in a classy and tasteful way. I am aiming for an oscar for this role and take everything I do deadly serious.

Chanelle Marais - "Hildegarde"

Picture
Chanelle Number One is a dictator from Africa who invaded Damyang in order to bend the minds and ears of the South Korean youth. She has ruled (the dance floor) on 6 continents and has launched successful underwater operations at magnificent dive sites in Asia, Africa and, most recently, Europe. It has been said that she runs in order to beat a hasty retreat in the face of an attack by her students, but this merciless tyrant knows no fear. Well, except for rainy days when her hair goes all fuzzy and no one in Korea takes her seriously.

Joey Nunez - "The Voice"

Picture
Joey is an American-born globe-traveler who has been instructing kindergartners and elementary students at Brighton, Willings, Shin Gi Han, and JLS Schools in Gwangju since August 2012. When outside the classroom, he enjoys reading (A LOT), writing (A LOT, TOO), singing, acting (like in this play), playing cards with friends, corresponding with family and friends in the States and elsewhere, having deep conversations with anyone, and living life to the fullest. This is Joey's second performance with the Gwangju Performance Project (GPP), as he has also appeared as "Nolan" in the Six Plays' Beyond the Frontier II. Joey graciously thanks you for supporting the GPP, and may you enjoy this unique show!

Julien McNulty - "Reverend Mike"

Picture
Once there was a boy named Julien, who lived by the bay. In his eighth year, gypsies took him away. Within the Winterland stench forests he did reside, then along came a dragon, so he hitched a ride. The flaming beast fooled him, forcing him to toil. But he escaped the fire factory, its plans he did foil. Roaming the realms, he served the Old Queen in the East, returning to study among the Roughnecks of the West. Now a bard and mandarin to those who’ll heed his advice so sage, he spends his leisure time as a thespian and jester onstage.
